This weekend, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of June, Cork Regatta will take place at the National Rowing Centre. The event will also serve as the final round of this year’s Grand League series. Due to the cancellation of the Dublin Metropolitan Regatta, only two regattas have been held in the series so far, making this weekend’s results all the more significant.
Neptune Rowing Club, last year’s overall champions, currently lead the standings with 907 points. In the Men’s Division 1, Commercial Rowing Club holds the top position with 484 points. St Michael’s Rowing Club have a narrow advantage with 237 points over Galway Rowing Club and Cork Boat Club, making for a closely contested finish. In the Men’s Division 2, St Joseph’s Rowing Club have built a strong lead with 345 points, while Neptune are out in front in the Women’s Division 2 with 270 points.
With a high number of entries across the Grand League categories, the final outcome remains wide open, setting the stage for an exciting weekend of racing.
