The exciting conclusion of the Waterways Ireland Row for It League takes place this Sunday, 3rd August, at the Carrick Sprint Regatta. Crews will battle it out over a fast-paced 420-metre course, with valuable league points still to be claimed. Running from 9:00am to 5:30pm, the regatta will feature more than 250 crews, promising an action-packed day on the water.

Following three successful regattas, the league has provided a valuable opportunity for junior athletes to gain experience in a competitive, league-format racing environment. This final event promises to be a thrilling one, as winning crews at Carrick-on-Shannon will be awarded double points, making every race a crucial opportunity to impact the final rankings.

By the end of the day, the overall league champions in each category will be crowned. Winners will receive medals and a pennant in recognition of their achievement and commitment throughout the series.

Carrick-on-Shannon Rowing Club will also call on the skilled and dedicated crews from Waterways Ireland, both in advance of the event and on the day itself, to help prepare and close the river.

We are also delighted to welcome John McDonagh, CEO of Waterways Ireland, who will present the league winners with their pennants, alongside Matt McKerrow, Rowing Ireland’s Head of Governance and Planning.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Waterways Ireland for their ongoing and generous support of the league.

We look forward to an action-packed day in Carrick-on-Shannon and to celebrating the achievements of all who have taken part in this year’s league.
