It was a strong morning of racing at the 2025 European Rowing Under 23 Championships in Račice, Czechia.

The Men’s Eight (BM8+) delivered a superb performance in their heat, finishing just behind the host nation.

Heat 1 Results:
Czechia – 05:48.36
Ireland – 05:48.98
Spain – 05:51.82
Italy – 05:52.45

With 1st and 2nd place progressing directly to the A Final, Ireland have secured their place in tomorrow’s A Final at 10:38am IST. They will race in Lane 2 against:

  • Lane 1 – Spain
  • Lane 3 – Czechia
  • Lane 4 – Romania
  • Lane 5 – Poland
  • Lane 6 – Italy

The Women’s Eight (BW8+) also impressed in their Preliminary Race, which determined the lanes for tomorrow’s final. Ireland will line up in Lane 5 of the A Final at 11:14am IST, racing against:

  • Lane 1 – Spain
  • Lane 2 – Austria
  • Lane 3 – Romania
  • Lane 4 – Czechia

Both eights have shown their class and determination on the water, a reflection of the incredible hard work and dedication these athletes have put into their training.
