The Home International Beach Sprints 2025 delivered a thrilling day of coastal rowing on Saturday, 20th September, at Narin Beach, Portnoo, Co. Donegal. 44 athletes from Ireland, England, Scotland, and Wales competed in a series of intense sprint races along the stunning Donegal coastline, providing fans with fast-paced action and plenty of drama.

The day began under mostly dry skies with sunny spells, though gusty winds and rougher conditions later added an extra challenge. Despite the elements, the athletes showcased exceptional skill and determination.

The Irish team gave the home crowd plenty to cheer about, producing several standout performances highlighted by a Gold Medal in the Junior Men’s Single (CJM1x) won by Jack Hehir (Rosscarbery RC). Congratulations to all crews, with Team Wales taking the overall championship title – the first Nation to win the Guin Batten Trophy away from home.

This year’s championship was proudly hosted by Loughros Point Rowing Club and Rowing Ireland, with crucial support from Swift Racing, who provided the boats. A huge thanks to everyone who made this event such a great success.
