Tiarnán competed at the 2024 Paris Paralympics in the PR2 Mixed Double Sculls alongside Katie O’Brien. The double marked Ireland’s return to Paralympic rowing since London 2012.

He also won silver at the 2024 World Rowing Cup II and III in the PR2 single sculls.

In 2025, Tiarnán won a gold medal at the World Cup I in Varese. This marked Tiarnán’s first gold medal on the international circuit, just one year after making his international debut.

A relative newcomer to rowing, Tiarnán has already shown immense potential, transitioning from being one of Ireland’s top wheelchair basketball players to rowing through the PTSB NextGen programme. Tiarnán grew up in Limerick and now represents Lee Rowing Club.
