This Saturday, May 10th, Glenarm will come alive! Olderfleet Rowing Club proudly hosts the Swift Racing Irish Masters Coastal Sculling Championships, now in its third and biggest year yet!
With over 70 crews making the journey from Wales, England, Jersey, and all across Ireland, the competition promises high-stakes, camaraderie, and coastal rowing at its finest.
Open to rowers aged 35 and over, the regatta features two competitive brackets — 40+ and 50+ — based on the crew’s average age. Racers will battle it out in a full lineup of events: Men’s and Women’s 1x, 2x, 4x, plus Mixed 2x and Mixed 4x.
Medals will be awarded in each age category with three or more entries. In races with fewer entries, all boats will race together for a single set of medals but watch out! Crews in the 40+ category will carry a 30-second handicap to keep things competitive.
